936. Henry Charles GRIGGS was born on 18 December 1834 in Windsor, Hartford County, CT.¹⁷⁸ He died on 17 October 1886 at the age of 51 in Waterbury, Waterbury Township, New Haven County, CT.¹⁷⁸ He is the husband of Mary Bassett Foote Griggs, and the son of Charles and Frances Drake Griggs.

He was a major partner in the firm Holmes and Griggs Manufacturing in New York, and the Smith and Griggs Manufacturing Company of Waterbury, CT. He was president of the Dime Savings Bank, director of the Waterbury National Bank, an incorporator of the Waterbury Hospital, plus much more.

A business block in Waterbury bears his name. Griggs Street in Waterbury was named after him.

He was also a trustee of the Riverside Cemetery Association, for this very cemetery in which he is buried. He was buried in Waterbury, Waterbury Township, New Haven County, CT.¹⁷⁸ in the Riverside Cemetery.
