929. William Harrison GRIGGS was born on 27 October 1840 in Hampton, Windham County, CT.¹⁷⁸ He is the son of Titus Osmar and Susan Harrington Griggs, and the husband of Julia Norcross Griggs.

William Harrison Griggs entered service in the Civil War on 11 Aug 1862, became a POW on 15 Jun 1863, and was mustered out on 15 Jul 1863. He was in Co. D, 18th Connecticut Volunteers from Pomfret, CT. He died on 13 June 1909 at the age of 68 in Connecticut.¹⁷⁸ He was buried in Mansfield Township, Tolland County, CT.¹⁷⁸ in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
