1013	i.	George Van Tile GRIGGS was born on 31 October 1839.²⁶³ He died on 11 October 1863 at the age of 23.²⁶³ "He served in the United States Army in the Civil War, was breveted Colonel for conspicuous gallantry in action, and was killed in action in the Battle of Culpeper, C.H."
