He appeared in the census in 1790 in Watertown, Litchfield County, CT.²⁴⁹ He died on 23 January 1821 at the age of 77 in Waterbury, Waterbury Township, New Haven County, CT.^250,251 Solomon was buried in Pomfret Township, Windham County, CT.^174,182,250 There is a gravestone in the Sabin Cemetery (also known as the Wappaquoian Burial Ground) in Pomfret Township that was believed to be this Solomon, but the 1780 year of death does not fit because of the birth of his children.

Gravestone Inscription: "In memory of Mr. Solomon, son of Mr. Solomon Griggs, who died Feb 16th, 1780, in the 35th year of his Age."
