Cordelia Jane ROOT¹¹⁷ was born on 13 March 1836 in Villenova Township, Chautauqua County, NY.^112,116 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Forestville, Hanover Township, Chautauqua County, NY.⁶⁶ She died on 27 April 1928 at the age of 92 in Forestville, Hanover Township, Chautauqua County, NY.^112,116,117 Obituary Notes: "Jane Root Warner died Friday evening in her ninety-third year at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph C. White, 717 Washington Avenue, this city. She was the widow of Erastus Dean Warner, who died in Forestville March 1, 1915.

She was born March 13, 1836 in the town of Villenova. Her father, Charles Root, and her mother, Eliza Bennett Root, were among the first settlers of Chautauqua county, having migrated west from Herkimer county in the early part of the century.

Mrs. Warner is survived by two sisters, Harriet B. Sanderson of Villenova, N.Y,, and Elsie R. Decker of this city; also one brother, Jay E. Root of Indianapolis, Ind. She left two children, Mrs. Allene Warner White and Elton Dean Warner; also four grand-children, Alan Dean Warner, Marion Warner, Charles W. White and Warner White. She also left three great-grandchilren, Wilbur Dean Warner, Catherine Jane Warner and Jean Warner, children of Mr. and Mrs. Alan D. Warner. All of her descendants reside in Dunkirk,

Mrs. Warner was a woman of forcible personality, wide knowledge and strong opinions. Her life involved a wide range of experiences and was crowded with varied events. She was an ardent Methodist, having been a member of the Forestville Methodist Episcopal church for many years, and having been prominent in Sunday school and church work.

Brief funeral services were held Sunday afternnon at the home of Mrs. Joseph C. White in Washington avenue at 2:30 o'clock, and later services on the same afternoon at 4 o'clock in Forestville at the Methodist Episcopal church. Flowers gratefully declined."

Cordelia Jane ROOT and Erastus Dean WARNER were married on 21 February 1861.^112,116,117 Erastus Dean WARNER was born on 8 April 1827 in Hamlet, Villenova Township, Chautauqua County, NY.^66,116 He appeared in the census in 1880 in Forestville, Hanover Township, Chautauqua County, NY.⁶⁶ He died on 1 March 1915 at the age of 87.^66,112,116 Erastus was buried in Forestville, Hanover Township, Chautauqua County, NY.⁶⁶
