He is listed as "Earl" in a picture of his parents and siblings taken in about 1880.)

He was baptized on 28 July 1861 in Alt Damerow, Kreis Saatzig, Regierungsbezirk Stettin, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).¹¹ He emigrated on 14 June 1870 from Preussen (Prussia).⁶⁵ (He and his parents emigrated on the ship "Helene" from the port of Bremerhaven, and arrived in New York City. He was listed as "Albert.") Albert was confirmed on 9 April 1876 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸¹ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Carson, Portage County, WI.²⁶² He was a "Boarder" in the household of David Lockwood, a sawmill owner, and his occupation was "Laborer." He appeared in the census in 1900 in Merrill, Lincoln County, WI.²⁶³ His occupation was "Day Laborer."
