27. Bruce E. ALLEN was born on 14 June 1939 in Black River Falls, Jackson County, WI.38 He died on 9 August 2011 at the age of 72 in Mather, Kingston Township, Juneau County, WI.38

Obituary Notes: "Bruce E. Allen, 72, rural Mather, died Aug. 9, 2011, at his home. He was born to Edward and Genevieve (Grimshaw) Allen on June 14, 1939, in Black River Falls. He was united in marriage to Barbara Gilmore on Oct. 1, 1961, in Sparta. He was a member of the Tomah High School graduating class of 1957. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy with Donny Parker on the buddy plan. He retired from Fort McCoy in 1994, where he was a water/sewer operator. Bruce loved growing cranberries and owned and operated the Allen’s Cranberry Marsh in the town of Bear Bluff. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt. He was a member of the Coghline-Sanford American Legion Post No. 0277, the NRA, and the Bear Bluff ATV Club.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of 49 years; a son, Curt Allen of Mather; a daughter, Theresa (Mark) Allen-Hubka of Clinton; three grandchildren, Amanda of Tomah, Dalton of Mather and Emily Hubka of Clinton; one great- grandchild, Mason Hansen; one brother, John (Jerelyn) Allen of Mather; two sisters-in-law, Karen Allen of Racine and Linda (Robert) Cooper of Sparta; an aunt, Edna Walters of Antioch, Ill.; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric; and two brothers, Rodney and Brian.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Daren DeFord will officiate. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Mather.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service."
