20. John Jesse "Jess" ANEY was born on 9 August 1840 in Ontario County, NY.^2,6,9 (His name was listed as "Jess" on the marriage record of his daughter Frona.) He appeared in the census in 1860 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ He was living with his parents and was listed as "J. J." He appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ Jess died on 13 November 1898 at the age of 58 in Monroe County, WI.¹⁰
