91. Richard Adolph "Dick" BAUMBACH was born on 3 June 1939 in Baraboo, Washington Township, Sauk County, WI.57 He died on 26 January 2007 at the age of 67 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.57

Obituary Notes: "Richard Adolph Baumbach, age 67, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, unexpectedly at his home. He was born at home on June 3, 1939, to Adolph and Meta (Friede) Baumbach in Baraboo, WI. He was confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baraboo and was a 1957 graduate of Baraboo High School. Dick served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1961.

He was united in marriage to Roxanne Riedel on July 28, 1962, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Together they moved to Tomah in 1965. Dick managed Star Discount, which later became Miller’s Pharmacy, for several years before going into business for himself. Dick and Roxie bought the Pizza Villa (later Dick Dastardly's Pizza) in 1977, and ran the business together until the mid-1980's. He then began a career with the City of Tomah as a radio dispatcher. Dick became an EMT in 1974, and served on the Tomah Area Ambulance Service for more than 30 years. He truly enjoyed serving the Tomah community. Dick was hired as the Director of the Ambulance Service in the early 1990's and continued in that position until his death.

Dick loved spending time with his family, going to the casino and was an avid Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer Fan. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Gaye (Dean) Peterson of Tomah, WI and Jodi (Patrick) Riniker of New Glarus, WI; three sons, Devon (Anna) Baumbach, Sean (Becky) Baumbach, and Kirk (Nichole) Baumbach all of Madison, WI; 12 grandchildren, Annalisa, Duncan, and Stevie Peterson of Tomah, WI, Kristin, Evan and Noah Riniker of New Glarus, WI, Kaitlyn, Kiefer, Chloe, Kai, Jasper and Jalen Baumbach all of Madison, WI; one sister, Opal (Harlich) Kohlmeyer of Baraboo, WI; nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Meta; his wife, Roxie; a sister, Audrey; and a granddaughter, Piper.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah. Pastor Phillip Enderle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday, Jan.29, 2007, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association or the charity of your choice."
