She died on 8 July 2012 at the age of 82 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY.^91,92

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth (Howard) James; daughter Debbie (Chuck) McIntire; sons David (Mary), Dennis and Doyle (Jackie); six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren."
