99. Caroline Elva BELCHER was born on 26 May 1926 in Camp Douglas, Cutler Township, Juneau County, WI.^34,63 She lived in Orange Township, Juneau County, WI in 1930.⁶³ She died on 18 May 2010 at the age of 83 in New Lisbon, Juneau County, WI.⁸⁶

Obituary Notes: "Elva Crawford, 83, of New Lisbon, died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at her home. Elva was the daughter of Harry and Cora (Brandt) Belcher and was born on May 26, 1926, in Camp Douglas. Elva graduated from Camp Douglas High School in 1944. Elva was united in marriage to Robert W. Crawford on July 22, 1945, in Shennington. They had two children, Gary and Carla. Elva worked at Leer Mfg. in New Lisbon for many years; after retiring from Leer, Elva enjoyed her summers at their lake home near Necedah, where she enjoyed water skiing and swimming. Always one to take on projects, she enjoyed, ceramics painting, quilting and volunteering at the food pantry. Elva enjoyed life to the fullest, always had a quick wit, and always a smile. Elva always said, "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...WOW What A Ride."

Elva is survived by her two children, Gary of Salem, Ill, and Carla (Denny) Loging of Hustler; a special friend, Bob Wagner of Tomah; four grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Voigt of Wisconsin Dells, Stacy (Andy) Berry of Breckenridge, Colo., Brad (fiancée Amanda) Loging of Elroy and Brent (Kay) Crawford-Day of Denver, colo.; and by five great- grandchildren; three brothers, Mike (Mary) Belcher of Reedsburg, Cy Belcher of Mauston and Ken (Marion) Belcher of Tomah; a sister, Henrietta Mourtensen of Milwaukee; two special nieces, Barb Nicksic and Betty Resley. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2003, and a sister, Dorothy Polly.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in New Lisbon with Rev. Wendy Ruetten presiding. Burial followed in the New Lisbon City Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at the Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m., and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the Bethany Lutheran Church or the New Lisbon First Responders."

Caroline Elva BELCHER and Robert W. CRAWFORD were married on 22 July 1945 in Shennington, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸⁶ Robert W. CRAWFORD was born on 11 December 1922 in Shennington, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶³ He died on 6 May 2003 at the age of 80 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶³
