87. Margaret L. "Muggs" SHIE was born on 4 July 1926 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁹ She died on 28 April 2014 at the age of 87 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁹

Obituary Notes: "Margaret “Muggs” L. Zastoupil, 87, of Tomah peacefully passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at her home. She was born July 4, 1926, to Edmund and Mary (Betthauser) Shie on the family farm in Oakdale. She was a 1943 graduate of Tomah High School.

Margaret attended La Crosse teachers college and taught in rural schools and at St. Mary’s Catholic School from 1945-1954. She was united in marriage to Howard Zastoupil June 26, 1948. To this union two children were born, Thomas and Carol. Margaret loved helping on the farm and raising her family. In 1980, they co-hosted the Farm Progress Days. She also worked the PX at Fort McCoy, at Dan and Harry’s Clothing Store in Tomah, and at Tomah Office Supply. She spent 18 years as assistant cook at St. Mary’s Catholic School. In her spare time, she was active in many organizations. She belonged to the Lioness Club, card club and was proud to have bowled for 50 years with the same women in bowling league.

She is survived her son, Thomas (Alice) Zastoupil of Tomah; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Hibbard of New Glarus, Wis., Barbara Tralmer of Tomah, Amy (Aaron) Harding of Chanhassen, Minn., Paul (Dr. Gina) Zastoupil of Tomah, Brad (fiance’, Erica Sande) Zastoupil of Falcon Heights, Minn., Scott (Becky Waege) of Dublin, Ireland; great-grandchildren, Michael and Rachel Zastoupil and Troy and Luke Harding; a son-in-law, Ron Parish of Tomah; a brother, Edwin (Marge) Shie of Oakdale; a sister, Rosella Hoffman of Verona, Wis.; and a brother-in-law, Francis Gasper of Tomah; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; her daughter, Carol Parish; a sister, Genevieve Gasper; and a brother-in-law, Ken Hoffman.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Monsignor Steven Kachel officiated with burial in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery."
