62. Oswald Otto "Ozzie" BETTHAUSER was born on 18 February 1920 in Monroe County, WI.⁹ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ He died on 30 July 2002 at the age of 82 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁷

Obituary Notes: "Oswald "Ozzie" O. Betthauser, 82, of Oakdale, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at his residence in Oakdale. He was born Feb. 18, 1920 to Frank and Josephine (Berendes) Betthauser in the Town of Clifton.

He was united in marriage to Joan Green June 20, 1964 in Kendall. Ozzie and Joan enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona. Prior to his retirement he worked as a carpenter at Fort McCoy. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tomah and a past member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kendall and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by a son Mike (Chris) Knoll of Wilmington, NC, 2 daughters, Pat Knoll of Dalton, GA. and Louise (Gene) Zirk of Kendall, 4 grandchildren Tanner Knoll, Al Zirk, Carly Knoll, and Angie Zirk, brother-in-law James (Janice) Green of Beloit, sister-in-law Gen (Ray) Green of Elroy, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents, and 2 brothers Joseph and Edward. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2002, 11:00A.M. at St Joseph Catholic Church, Kendall. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Burial in church cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, Kendall and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M until time of the Mass. Prayer service 7:30 P.M. Friday evening."
