James John BETTHAUSER was born on 10 January 1902 in Monroe County, WI.^9,12 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ He was living with his parents and his occupation was "Laborer, Warehouse." He appeared in the census in 1930 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.⁶ His occupation was "Proprietor, Retail Coal and Feed." James died on 12 July 1951 at the age of 49.¹²

James John BETTHAUSER and Emma E. SUTTON were married on 13 June 1927.¹² Emma E. SUTTON was born on 3 December 1902.¹² She appeared in the census in 1930 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.⁶ She died in September 1971 at the age of 68.¹²
