4. Joseph BRANDENBURG Sr. was born in 1767 in Hampshire County, West Virginia Colony, British Colonial America.^1,4 He died in 1864 at the age of 97 in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY.⁴ He.¹ He and his wife moved to Clark County, KY and from thence to Owsley County, to the place now known as Heidelberg, KY. He died at his old home place at the age of 90 years, his wife having died about eight years previous.

Joseph BRANDENBURG Sr. and Delilah VESSER were married on 1 September 1796 in Clark County, KY.^1,4 Delilah VESSER, daughter of Benjamin Abraham VESSER and Rhoda HARRIS, was born in 1767 in Amelia County, VA.⁴ She died on 20 March 1856 at the age of 89 in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY.⁴ (Her given name may have been "Delia.")

21	v.	James B. BRANDENBURG (1st) was born in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY. He died in infancy.
22	vi.	James B. BRANDENBURG (2nd) was born in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY. He lived to about 80 years of age.

25	ix.	Betsy B. BRANDENBURG died. She died at about 77 years of age. She was born in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY.
26	x.	Hetty B. BRANDENBURG was born in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY. She and her sister Betsy lived with their father and mother and took care of them until they died. They were then allowed to hold the farm as long as they lived. She died at about 64 years of age.
