Brandau, 75 of Tomah, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 2, 1930, to Earl and Anita (Helmke) Brandenburg at Wilton. She was united in marriage to William Brandau Jr. on Sept. 20, 1952, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilton. Most recently she worked as the Cook for Kids & Company Day Care in Tomah. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by eight children, Dixie (Leonard) Arndt and Dean (Rachel) Brandau, all of Wilton, Steve Brandau of Kendall, Terry (Pam) Brandau of Cashton, Todd (Tami) Brandau of Tomah, Debra (Dominique) Akermann of Maple Grove, MN, Patti Thomas of Mauston and Cindy (William) Rogge of Tomah; 16 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild; a sister Shirley (Norbert) Strong of Joliet, IL. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Brandenburg, and a sister, Wava Gerber. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilton. Pastor Ryan Fletcher will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home in Wilton on Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Family request that memorials be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilton or the Serenity House in Tomah in memory of Bonita Brandau."
