He was confirmed on 7 June 1863 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.21 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. After 1865 William was a farmer in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.4,16 He appeared in the census in 1870 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.14 His surname was spelled "Rodder" and his occupation was "Farmer." His household was next to that of his parents. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.4 His occupation was listed as "Farmer." William appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.19 His occupation was "Farmer." He lived at his home in Bear Creek, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI in August 1901.22 He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.7 William appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.10 He was living with his son William. John died on 27 April 1930 at the age of 60 in Monroe County, WI.13 of chronic nephritis in the Monroe County Poor House. He was an invalid.
