Fred lived at his home in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI about 1902. About 1905 he was a hearse driver in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³³ and he owned one of the first cars in Tomah. He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ Fred appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁸ His household was at 1121 Oak Street in the second ward. He appeared in the census in 1930 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁹ His household was at 517 Pearl Street and consisted of Wallace, age 53; his wife, Nellie, age 53; and his son, Howard, age 13. His occupation was "Live Stock Buyer."

Fred died on 16 November 1946 at the age of 70.^30,31 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^20,21 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Wallace Frederich "Fred" TAFT (\) and Minnie Etta ROOT were married on 11 December 1898 in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.^16,35,36,37 Minnie Etta ROOT, daughter of Ira James ROOT and Mary Minerva DEWEY, was born on 8 February 1874 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^{4,30,31,36,38,39} She appeared in the census in 1875 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴⁰ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ Minnie appeared in the census in 1885 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴¹ She graduated in 1893 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴² from the Tomah High School. About 1895 she was a school teacher in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.^43,44 Minnie appeared in the census in 1895 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴⁵ She appeared in the census in 1900 in Grand Rapids Township, Wood County, WI.³² She appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ Minnie appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁸ She lived at her home in Redwater, McCone County, MT in September 1923.⁴⁶ She died on 23 September 1927 at the age of 53 in Redwater, McCone County, MT.^{30,31,36,38,47,48} of tuberculosis. Minnie was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

She was buried in 1960 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^20,21,52 in the Oak Grove Cemetery. She died in 1960 at the age of 73.^20,49
