1. Pascal DEZOTELL was born on 1 April 1799 in Quebec Province, Canada.1,2,3 The 1860 and 1880 Census' listed his birth place as Canada. He appeared in the census in 1860 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.2 He appeared in the census in 1870 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.1,4 Pascal appeared in the census in 1880 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.3 He died on 20 January 1897 at the age of 97 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.1

Obituary Notes: "Tomah Monitor Feb. 3, 1897

Dezotell - At the residence of Joseph Marburger, in the town of Sheldon, on Wednesday, January 20 1897, Pascal Dezotell, aged 103 years nine months twenty days.

Pascal Dezotell was born in Montreal Canada, and removed to the United States when quite a young man. He was the father of seventeen children, had forty-six grand-children, forty-nine great grand-children and two great great grand-children. He was a veteran of the civil war. The funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 23."

He was buried on 23 January 1897.1,5 in the Wanderer's Rest Cemetery.

Pascal DEZOTELL and Mary Elizabeth COOK were married in 1825 in Rutland Township, Jefferson County, NY.1 They were married in the Fall by Squire Brook. They1 were married. Mary Elizabeth COOK was born on 8 June 1813 in Quebec Province, Canada.1,2 She appeared in the census in 1850 in Lewis County, NY.1 She appeared in the census in 1860 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI. Mary appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.3 She was living with her son Charles and his family and was listed as "Married." It is not known why she was not living with her husband, who was listed separately in the Census. She died on 6 August 1887 at the age of 74 in Kirby, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.1

John DEZOTELL was born about 1840.1 He served in the military between November 1861 and February 1862 in Kentucky.1 He served in the Civil War and became a private in Company H, 10th Wisconsin Voluntary. He died on 23 February 1862 at the age of 22 in Hart County, KY.1 in Bacon Creek. He died in the Civil War of the measles.

Isaac DEZOTELL was born about 1842 in New York.1 He served in the military between February 1862 and October 1862 in Tennessee.1 He served in Company K, 4th Minnesota Infantry. The regiment lost during service 3 officers and 58 enlisted men killed and mortally wounded, and 3 officers and 175 enlisted men by disease--a total of 239 casualties. He died on 18 October 1862 at the age of 20 in Jackson, Madison County, TN.1

Abraham DEZOTELL was born on 6 July 1844.1 He appeared in the census in 1860 in Oconomowoc Township, Waukesha County, WI.1 He was living with Cornelius Vandervort and his family. He served in the military between August 1862 and July 1865.1 Abraham died on 17 October 1868 at the age of 24 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.6 He died intestate with no wife or children. He was buried in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.7 in the Greenfield Township Cemetery.

William DEZOTELL was born about 1846 in New York.1,2 He appeared in the census in 1860 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.2 He served in the military between August 1862 and January 1863.1 He served in the 20th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry. William died on 9 January 1863 at the age of 17 in Springfield, Greene County, MO.1 He died due to disease during the Civil War. He was buried in Springfield, Greene County, MO.1 in the Springrield National Cemetery.
