Dorothy Ella WADEPHUL (-) (~) was born on 13 January 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.47,52,67,75 She appeared in the census in April 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.70 She appeared in the census in 1920 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.85 Dorothy graduated in 1928 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.113 from Teacher's Training at Tomah High School. She appeared in the census in 1930 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.87 She was a rural school teacher and a "Boarder" in the household of Alvin Hancock and his family. She died on 25 February 2002 at the age of 92 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.67

Obituary Notes: "Dorothy E. Zellmer, 92, of Wilton, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at the Serenity House, Tomah. She was born Jan. 13, 1910, to Frank and Mary (Webb) Wadephul in the town of Wilton. She was united in marriage to Edward Zellmer on Oct. 20, 1934, in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death. They lived in Portsmouth, Ohio, until 1945, when they moved back to Wilton.

Dorothy was a teacher in country schools, including Hillcrest, South Ridge and Eckelberg. She was a member of Faith Congregational Church, Wilton, where she was a longtime organist and Sunday School teacher.

During the summer, Dorothy could always be found out in her garden. Friends and neighbors were always welcome to her beautiful flowers and vegetables. In addition to their own children, many foster children found a loving home with Ed and Dorothy.

She is survived by three children, Jerelyn (Walter) Felt of Onalaska, Lowell (Arlys) Zellmer of Janesville and Stanley (Ruth) Zellmer of Madison; seven grandchildren, Greg Felt, Susan Felt, Rachel Zellmer (Matt Thompson), Paul Zellmer, Mary Zellmer, Michelle (James) Bates and Jeff Zellmer; one sister, Irene Smith of Tomah; close family friend Doris Baum of Onalaska; foster sons Richard Beier of Wilton, Danny and David Bussing, many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1982, and two brothers, Morton and Clarence Wadephul."
Dorothy was buried on 28 February 2002 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.67,114 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Dorothy Ella WADEPHUL (-) (~) and Edward Carl "Ed" ZELLMER were married on 20 October 1934 in Dubuque, Dubuque County, IA.67 Edward Carl "Ed" ZELLMER, son of Wilhelm ZELLMER and Wilhelmine HAACK, was born on 29 February 1904 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.114 (The Oak Grove Cemetery records list his birth year as 1906.) He appeared in the census in 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.70 He died on 15 November 1982 at the age of 78 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI. Ed was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.114 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
