Mary Alverda "Allie" VICKERY (~) was born on 25 January 1893 in Columbus, Stillwater County, MT.53,54,77 She appeared in the census in 1900 in Clark, Big Horn County, WY.56 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Clark, Park County, WY.57 Allie appeared in the census in 1920 in Carbon County, MT.60 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Roberts, Carbon County, MT.53 She appeared in the census in 1940 in Tony, Carbon County, MT.78 Allie died on 9 March 1984 at the age of 91 in Carbon County, MT.54,79 She was buried in Luther, Carbon County, MT.79 in the Tony Cemetery. (Her middle name was spelled "Alverta" in the obituary of her daughter Mary Anne.)

Mary Alverda "Allie" VICKERY (~) and James Joseph "Jim" O'SHEA were married on 4 August 1914 in Red Lodge, Carbon County, MT.31,79 James Joseph "Jim" O'SHEA, son of Patrick O'SHEA and Mary Anne MCSWEENEY, was born on 2 August 1873 in Kinsale, Bantry Bay, County Cork, Ireland.53,60,80 (The 1920 Census listed his age as 45 and the 1930 as 53, indicating a birth year of about 1876. The 1930 Census indicated that he had been married since he was 38.) He emigrated in 1914 from Ireland.53,81 His emigration to America was sponsored by his oldest brother, Daniel. Prior to his arrival in the U.S., he lived in South Africa, where he worked in the gold mines for about 14 years.

He is believed to have had a first marriage in South Africa, but the name of his wife is not known, nor is it known if they had any children. He registered for the Military Draft on 17 September 1918 in Roberts, Carbon County, MT. 82 His draft papers indicated that he had brown hair and blue eyes. He was naturalized in 1919 in Montana.60 About 1920 Jim was in Carbon County, MT.79 He traveled throughout the country as a representative for the Farmers' Union and also served in the Montana State Legislature. He appeared in the census in 1920 in Carbon County, MT.60 His household was located in Township 5 South, Range 20 East. His occupation was "Farmer, Own Farm." He appeared in the census in 1930 in Roberts, Carbon County, MT.53 His household was in the Roberts School District #23. His occupation was listed as "Secretary, Farmer's Union." Jim lived in Luther, Carbon County, MT after 1933.81 He bought a ranch in Luther and his family lived there for many years. The ranch is now owned by Michael O'Shea. He appeared in the census in 1940 in Tony, Carbon County, MT.78 His occupation was "Farmer, Farm." (His birthplace was listed as the "Irish Free State.") He died on 12 December 1941 at the age of 68.31 Jim was buried in 1941 in Luther, Carbon County, MT.77,79 He and his wife are buried in the Tony Cemetery near their ranch.
