He died on 7 September 1961 at the age of 48.^3,21 Edwin was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Edwin N. FENSKE and Irene K. DETTINGER were married on 3 July 1942.^3,11 Irene K. DETTINGER, daughter of William DETTINGER and Jessie UNKNOWN (DETTINGER), was born on 31 January 1918 in Northfield Township, Jackson County, WI.¹¹ She died on 23 March 1974 at the age of 56 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.¹¹ She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
