21. Johann "Michael" FROHMADER (!) was born on 23 January 1838 in Bayern (Bavaria) Province, German Confederation.^2,15,51,52 (He was listed as "Michael" in the 1860 Census.) (The 1870 Census listed his age as 33, indicating a year of birth of 1836 or 1837.)

He appeared in the census in 1860 in Sullivan Township, Jefferson County, WI.¹⁵ His household consisted of "Michael," his wife, Catherine; and their daughter, Melinda. He lived next door to his brother, John and his family, and his father George and his family. Their surname was listed as "Frohnada." He registered for the Military Draft on 1 July 1863 in Sullivan Township, Jefferson County, WI. ⁵³ He served in the Civil War for 7 months, 15 days as a Corporal in Military Company L. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ His household consisted of "John," age 33, farmer, born in Bavaria; his wife, Catherine, age 33, "keeping house," born in Baden; Melinda, age 11, born in Wisconsin; and Ellsworth, age 5, born in Wisconsin. Michael appeared in the census in 1880 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ His household consisted of "J. M.," age 42, "farmer," born in Baiern; his wife, Catherine, age 42, "keeping house," born in Baiern; Melinda, age 21, "works out;" Ellsworth, age 15, "works at home;" Caroline, age 9, "at school;" Nelle, age 5; and Lydia, age 2. On 20 June 1884 he was in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁴ He was appointed as a U.S. Postmaster. He died on 23 February 1886 at the age of 48 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵¹ Michael was buried in Clifton, Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁰ in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. (He is listed as "James.")

Johann "Michael" FROHMADER (!) and Catherine RICKERMANN (!) were married on 18 March 1858 in Rome, Jefferson County, WI.^{15,16,22,52,55} (He and his wife were not listed in Clifton Township in the 1860 Census, and it is not known where they lived.)

(The 1900 Census indicates that they had 8 children, of which 4 were living at the time.) Catherine RICKERMANN (!)⁵² was born on 14 July 1837 in Baden, Germany.^10,15,22 She emigrated in 1850 from Germany.²² The 1900 Census indicates that she emigrated to the U.S. in 1850 and had been in the U.S. for 50 years. She appeared in the census in 1860 in Sullivan Township, Jefferson County, WI.¹⁵ Catherine appeared in the census in 1870 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ She lived next door to Johannes "John," his wife, Mary Agnes, and their family, and two doors from John's brother Michael, his wife, Bertha, and their family. Her relationship is not known. She appeared in the census in 1900 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.²² She was living with her daughter "Lettie." Catherine appeared in the census in 1910 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.²³ She lived next door to Henry Frohmader and his family. Her relationship is not known. She was a widow, age 72, and had 8 children, of whom 3 were still living.

. She died on 9 April 1923 at the age of 85 in New Lisbon, Juneau County, WI.⁴ She was buried in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
