88. Vern George FROHMADER was born on 25 January 1915 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.38,57,63,95 (He was listed as "Henrie" in the 1920 Census.) Vern died on 13 November 2009 at the age of 94 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.95

Obituary Notes: "Vern G. Frohmader, 94, of Sparta and formerly of Tomah died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 26, 1915 to Ben and Ella (Glander) Frohmader in the Town of Clifton, Wisconsin, the oldest of seven boys. He was united in marriage to Arlene Thorson on July 14, 1945 at Fountain Lutheran Church, Kendall. She preceded him in death March 21, 2006. Vern worked for many years as a carpenter and a brick layer. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed spending time planting his yearly vegetable garden. In his younger years Vern was an active member of the church. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Men’s Club and a member of the Clifton Sportsman Club.

He is survived by two daughters Judy (Larry) Fyten of Minnetonka, MN and Marcy (Don) Stickney of Woodbury, MN, grandchildren Kelly (Jason) Roelofs, and Adam Stickney of Phoenix, AZ, Leah Fyten of Flandreau, SD, Jennifer Fyten of New Town, ND, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, a “sister” Delores Dotson of Altoona, WI, 4 sisters-in-law Ann Frohmader of Milwaukee, Gladys Loging of New Lisbon, Annette Thorson of Kendall and Maxine (Verlyn) Kuderer of Brookfield, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Arlene, he is further preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, Reuben, Lloyd, Kenneth, infant brothers, Orley, Howard and Harold, 8 brothers-in-law and 6 sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Avenue, Tomah. Pastor David T. Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials in Vern’s memory may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, is assisting the family with the arrangements."

Vern George FROHMADER and Arlene Jeanette THORSON were married on 14 July 1945 in Kendall, Glendale Township, Monroe County, WI.63,95 Arlene Jeanette THORSON, daughter of Peter THORSON and Alice NELSON, was born on 27 June 1921 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.59 She died on 21 March 2006 at the age of 84 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.59

Obituary Notes: :Arlene Jeanette Frohmader age 84 of Tomah passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center in Sparta. She was born June 27,1921 in the town of Clifton, Monroe County to Peter and Alice (Nelson) Thorson. She was united in marriage to Vern Frohmader on July 14, 1945 at Fountain Lutheran Church, Kendall. Arlene graduated from Eau Claire High School. Prior to her retirement she worked at the Badger Café in Tomah for 25 years. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and playing cards. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah. Arlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Vern of 60 years, two daughters Judy (Larry) Fyten of Minnetonka, MN, Marcy (Don) Stickney of Woodbury, MN, grandchildren Kelly (Jason) Roelofs, and Adam Stickney of Woodbury, Leah Fyten of Flandreau, SD, Jennifer Fyten New Town, ND, five great grandchildren and two great great grandsons, two sisters Gladys Loging of New Lisbon, and Maxine (Verlyn) Kuderer of Brookfield, WI, a brother Marlyn (Annette) Thorson of Kendall, brother-in-law Herb Haase of Eau Claire two sisters-in-law Ann Frohmader of Milwaukee and Mary Frohmader of Ft. Meyers, FL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five sisters Dell Olson, Alma Evenson, Leora Haase, Doris Preuss and Geneva Wagner two brothers Sylvan and Orville Thorson, eight brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave. Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Family request memorials be given in memory of Arlene J. Frohmader to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church or Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center in Sparta."
