210. Florence Frances FROHMADER was born on 21 July 1922 in Monroe County, WI.39,57,159 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.39 She died on 2 May 2012 at the age of 89 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.159

Obituary Notes: "Florence F. Ziegler, 89, of Tomah, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Tomah Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was born July 21, 1922, to Irvin and Frances (Kruppe) Frohmader in Clifton. She was a 1940 graduate of New Lisbon High School. Florence received her teaching degree from Juneau County Normal in 1942 and taught until 1949. She was united in marriage to Bruce Ziegler Sept. 17, 1949, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. They moved to St. Paul, Minn., in 1957, where they lived until 1968 when they returned to the Tomah area.

Florence was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah, where she served as a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW). She shared her husband’s love of genealogy and travel. Florence loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Joan) Ziegler of Brookfield; grandchildren, Caroline and Jared; a brother, Donald (Mary) Frohmader; a sister, Grace Hanson; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Frances; her husband, Bruce; a son, Ronald; and her siblings, Irvin Frohmader Jr., Ethel Cindric and Jerome Frohmader.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday (today), May 7, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. Monsignor Richard Gilles will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at church. Memorials may be given to the St. Mary’s Educational Endowment Trust, 303 W. Monroe St, Tomah, Wis. 54660."

Florence Frances FROHMADER and Bruce Bernard ZIEGLER were married on 17 September 1949 in Indian Creek, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.59 Bruce Bernard ZIEGLER, son of Roman K. ZIEGLER and Olivia T. RAPP, was born on 12 March 1924 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.57,59 He died on 20 March 2007 at the age of 83 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.59

Obituary Notes: "Bruce Bernard Ziegler, age 83, of Tomah, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. He was born on March 12, 1924, to Roman K. and Olivia T. (Rapp) Ziegler in Norwalk, WI.

Bruce was united in marriage to Florence Frohmader on Sept. 17, 1949, at St. Michael’s in Indian Creek. He worked as a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1985. Following retirement, he worked for St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery until 2003.

Bruce was a member of the Knights of Columbus Tomah Council #4125 since 1970 and a member of the 4th degree since 1979. He served as Secretary, Grand Knight, District Deputy, Program Director and Financial Secretary. He was very active in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as usher, lector and lay minister. Bruce served as President of the Monroe County Association for Retarded Citizens and helped organize Handishop Industries in Tomah. He was also interested in genealogy.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Tomah; his son, Robert (Joan) Ziegler of Brookfield; grandchildren, Caroline and Jared Ziegler; a brother, Niel Ziegler of Clifton; sisters, Ellen Henthorne of Hustler and Joyce (LeRoy) Hanson of Clifton; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Phillips of Tomah; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Olivia; a son, Ronald; a brother, James Ziegler, and a sister, Dolores Phillips; sisters-in-law Muriel Ziegler and Betty Ziegler and brother-in-law Tom Henthorne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery at Indian Creek. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, March 22, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with an 8 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to the St. Mary’s Endowment Fund."
