Arlys Marie GABOWER was born on 16 June 1918 in Monroe County, WI.³¹ She appeared in the census in 1920 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ She appeared in the census in 1930 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ Arlys graduated in 1935 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶² from Tomah High School. She died on 3 July 2001 at the age of 83 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵

Obituary Notes: "Arlys Mistele, age 83, of Tomah, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 16, 1918 to Jess and Emma (Rusch) Gabower in Oakdale. She was united in marriage to Raymond Mistele in 1935 in Tomah.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy (Virgil) Schmitz of Norwalk, and Marianne (Charles) Strozewski of Warrens; son Richard "Joe" (Enid Gibson) Mistele of Sparta; brother Alfred Gabower of Mauston; sisters, Ethlyn Mark of Tomah and Bernice Hoile of Mauston; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Howard" Mistele, on Jan. 24, 2001; her parents, Jess and Emma; and two sisters, Vera Jane Moreno and Lillian Muehlenkamp.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6 and burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah." She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶³ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Arlys Marie GABOWER and Raymond Howard "Howie" MISTELE were married in 1935 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^25,64 Raymond Howard "Howie" MISTELE, son of Joseph E. MISTELE and Amelia H. RASLER, was born on 26 April 1914 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵ He appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ Howie graduated in 1932 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵ from Tomah High School Between 1938 and 1941 he was an owner of The Crow Bar in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁵ His partner in beginning the business was Chester Philips. The building had previously been a private bank operated by a Mr. Thayer, and was later a bakery. Howie sold his interest in the business to Chester Philips in 1941. Between 1948 and 1976 he was a bakery deliveryman in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵ Howie died on 24 January 2001 at the age of 86 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵ He was buried on 27 January 2001 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^25,63 at Oak Grove Cemetery.
