36. Robert Frederick "Smokey" GABOWER was born on 16 February 1925 in Monroe County, WI.^25,31 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ Between 1955 and 1992 he was a pharmaceutical sales representative in Wisconsin.²⁵ Smokey lived at his home in Wausau, Maine Township, Marathon County, WI in April 1956.²⁸ when he attended the funeral of Emma Rose Kuckuck. He died on 13 December 2002 at the age of 77 in Schofield, Marathon County, WI.²⁵ He was buried about 19 May 2003 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷⁶

Robert Frederick "Smokey" GABOWER and Virginia "Gini" ROSE were married on 13 September 1952 in Green Bay, Brown County, WI.²⁵ Virginia "Gini" ROSE was born about 1921.⁷⁷ She died on 9 July 2014 at the age of 93.⁷⁷

Obituary Notes: "Virginia "Gini" Gabower, 93, died peacefully Wednesday, July 9, 2014, under the care of her son at his home.

Survivors include her son, James Gabower, Kronenwetter; two grandchildren, Nicole and Steven Gabower; stepgrandchildren, Collette (Brian) Peters, Kevin (girlfriend, Sam) Kropidlowski and Jacob Rykowski; stepgreat-grandchildren, Ava Kropidlowski and Bryden Peters.

Besides her parents; Gini is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and brother, William Rose.

At Gini's request, there will be no services held at this time.  In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials may be directed to Aspirus Wausau Hospital Volunteers."
