He appeared in the census in 1860 in Germantown Township, Juneau County, WI.³ He lived at his family farm in Section 21 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI between 1880 and 1897.^2,19 Fred appeared in the census in 1880 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.² He was living with his mother and step-father. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁰ Between 1904 and 1908 he was a member of the Monroe County Board of Supervisors, representing Oakdale Township in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹ Fred appeared in the census in 1910 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ He appeared in the census in 1920 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ Fred died on 17 January 1942 at the age of 83 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.^22,23 He passed away at the home of his son, Frank. Emma Rose KUCKUCK, daughter of Heinrich Friedrich Ludwig KUCKUCK and Sophie Wilhelmine Henrietta SWEKING, was born on 19 August 1862 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,6,22,25 (She is listed as "Emily" in the 1870 Census and as "Emma" in the 1880 Census. The 1900 Census lists her birth year as 1863.) She was baptized about 1863 in Indian Creek, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁶ She appeared in the census in 1870 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ Emma appeared in the census in 1875 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁷ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.² She was living with her parents. She lived at their farm in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI between 1882 and 1917.²⁵ Emma appeared in the census in 1900 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁰ She appeared in the census in 1910 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ She lived at their home in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI between 1917 and 1951.^25,28 Emma appeared in the census in 1920 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ She appeared in the census in 1930 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ She died on 25 April 1956 at the age of 93.^22,25

Obituary Notes: "Emma Rose Kuckuck was born August 19, 1862 in the town of Tomah, youngest daughter of Frederic and Wilhelmina Kuckuck. She received her education in that community.

On December 25, 1881, she was married to John F. Gabower. They settled on a farm in the town of Oakdale and continued living there until 1917 when they purchased a home in the village of Oakdale. After Mr. Gabower's death in 1941, Mrs. Gabower continued maintaining her home until about five years ago. For the past several years she made her home with her daughter, Minnie, at Waterloo, Iowa, and her son, Bert, north of the city.

She passed away April 25, 1956 at the Tomah Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Harrier of the village of Oakdale, and Mrs. R. H. Clow, Waterloo, Iowa; two sons; Frank, of the town of Oakdale, and Bert, town of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Jess, the oldest son, who resided on the homestead, passed away in 1948.

Relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kuckuck, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Clow, Waterloo, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spielman, Fairmont, Minnesota; Mrs. Don Grangman, Waterloo, Iowa; Armond Mistele, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Gabower, Wausau."
