84. Ronald "Ronnie" BURKHALTER was born on 16 February 1952 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹⁶ He died on 8 February 2011 at the age of 58 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹⁶

Obituary Notes: "Ronnie L. Burkhalter, 58, of Tomah passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at home with his family by his side, along with Casey and Teddy Behr, the family dogs. Ronnie was born Feb. 16, 1952, in Tomah to Arley and Geraldine (Shutter) Burkhalter. Ronnie was a 1970 graduate of Tomah High School.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Bowsher, June 1, 1974, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Tomah. Ronnie farmed with his parents until 1988 and then went to work for Pamida until going to work for Walmart until his illness. He encouraged his kids in sports, and enjoyed attending hockey, wrestling, softball and volleyball events. He even umpired softball and Little League and was an assistant coach in hockey. He enjoyed watching sporting events that involved the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He was able to watch the Green Bay Packers win the Super Bowl with his family. Ronnie enjoyed farming and taking care of his International tractors that ran the farm. Ronnie has enjoyed gracefully driving his horses down the road with his custom-made buggy with the presence of the family riding their horses along with him the past couple years. He has always enjoyed watching the grandchildren grow up.

He leaves behind his wife, Beverly, and their three children, Cory (Christi) Burkhalter, Dawn (Rick) Pfaff and Robert (Vicki) Burkhalter Sr.; grandchildren, Kirsten, Cole Elizabeth, Robert Jr., Kyle and Arley Burkhalter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arley and Geraldine.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Torkelson Funeral Home. Pastor Edwin Stigen will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation Friday, Feb. 11, from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. and again on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Ronnie’s memory to Tomah Hospice Touch and Tomah Area Cancer Support."
