Robert "Bob" SHUTTER and Deanne E. KRUEGER were married on 5 June 1955 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸⁵ Deanne E. KRUEGER, daughter of Herbert KRUEGER and Stella UNKNOWN (KRUEGER), was born on 10 June 1933 in River Falls, Pierce County, WI.⁸⁵ She died on 22 August 2015 at the age of 82 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.⁸⁵

Obituary Notes: 'Deanne E. Shutter, 82, of Tomah passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. She was born June 10, 1933, in River Falls, Wis., to Herbert and Stella (Knutson) Krueger.

She was united in marriage to Robert Shutter June 5, 1955, in Tomah. Together, they loved living in the community of Tomah, and were dedicated participants and supporters for many local events. In later years, she and Bob attended numerous athletic contests to support their children and grandchildren, as well as all Tomah athletes. They were two of Tomah’s biggest fans. In addition to this, they spent a great deal of time at their cottage at Flora Dell. Deanne enjoyed golf, playing bridge, sewing quilts, attending church circle and being a part of a sorority.

Deanne was like a second mother to so many of her children’s and grandchildren’s friends. Her door was always open for people. She prepared meals for the Tomah football team before games, made sure everyone was remembered at birthdays and holidays, and was always eager to talk about her passion for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Deanne was a very caring individual who touched the lives of many people through the years.

She is survived by her children, Robert “Rocky” Shutter of Tomah, Dann (Mary) Shutter of Tomah, Brad (Michelle) Shutter of Plymouth, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Missy Shutter (Nick Reilley) of Madison, Wis., Marc (Kelli Rose) Shutter of Tomah, and Kelsey Shutter of Tomah, Alex, Sam, Jacob and Brett Shutter; three great-grandchildren, Jayda, Emmeri, and Kamryn; her sister, Renee (Michael Corrigan) Krueger; her brother, David Krueger; sister-in-law, Jeanne Shutter; nieces, nephews; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Stella Krueger; her husband, Robert, in 2014; and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Kay) Krueger.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Torkelson Funeral Home, Tomah. Pastor Edwin Stigen will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Torkelson Funeral Home, Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Deanne’s family has requested that memorials be given in her memory."
