Kenneth Charles "Diz" VANDERVORT was born on 20 June 1907 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.^23,26,49,53 He appeared in the census in 1910 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ He appeared in the census in 1920 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁰ Diz graduated in 1926 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶³ from Tomah High School. He appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ He and his wife were living with his parents. He lived in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI in September 1942.⁶⁴ Diz died on 13 November 1989 at the age of 82 in Zephyrhills, Pasco County, FL.^49,53

Obituary Notes: "Kenneth C. Vandervort, 928 Grove Ave., passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 1989, in East Pasco Medical Center, Zephyrhills, Fla., at the age of 82. Mr. Vandervort was born in Monroe County on June 20, 1907. On April 3, 1929, at Winona, Minn, he was united in marriage to the former Eleanor Allen. Mr. Vandervort had been employed by Insinkerator from 1961 until his retirement in 1972. He attended Calvary Memorial Church.

Surviving are his wife Eleanor; their daughter and two sons-in-law, Geraldine and Gene Hansen, LeRoy Jenkins, all of Racine; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Mr. Vandervort was preceded in death by their daughter, Jeannine Jenkins, in 1987. Funeral Services were Saturday, Nov. 18, at 11 A.M. in the Draeger Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan James officiating. Private burial services will be held on Monday in West Lawn Memorial Park."

SMITH, was born on 9 December 1911 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^{23,26,49,60,66,67} (She may have been born in Warrens.) She appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ She died on 13 April 1998 at the age of 86 in Racine, Racine County, WI.^49,60,66

She was born in Monroe County, Wis., on Dec. 9, 1911, to the late Casper and Lucretia (nee Smith) Allen. On April 3, 1929, in Winona, Minn., she was united in marriage to Kenneth C. Vandervort. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1989.

She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine (Gene) Hansen, and her 6 grandchildren. She is further survived by 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna (Dewel) Walters of Antioch, Ill.; a son-in-law, LeRoy Jenkins of Racine; and her sisters-in-law, Gene Allen of Mather and Leola Vandervort of Richland Center. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeannine Jenkins, in 1987; one sister and three brothers. Burial was in West Lawn Memorial Park on April 15, 1998."
