Obituary Notes: "Allan Grant Doyle, Jr. (Major U.S. Army Ret.), 62, of Fairbanks, AK, died June 23, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Tomah. He was born Feb. 8, 1943, to Allan Grant, Sr. and Elizabeth (Ost) Doyle at Nome, AK. He was united in marriage to Sandra Gnewikow on Nov. 22, 1990, at Oakdale, WI. Maj. Allan Grant Doyle, Jr., served for 20 years with the Corps of Engineers United States Army and was assigned twice to duty in the Republic of Vietnam during his military career. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he continued to work for the Corps as a civilian engineer for an additional 15 years.

He is survived by his wife Sandra of Fairbanks, AK; a son, Allan Doyle III of Washington; a daughter, Patricia German of Florida; step children, Cary (Karen) Muehlenkamp of North Carolina, Shelly (Dennis) Lange of California, and Philene (Cory) Rasmussen of Alaska; a daughter-in-law, Tasha (Kevin) Stillman of Washington; grandchildren, Rhiya, Amanda, Mitchel, Victoria, Genevieve, Ashlyn, Haylee, Aron, Amanda, Kay and Graceann; great-grandchildren, Amber, Drew, Bailey, Ashley and Cody; five sisters, Virginia (Lonnie) Heiner of Washington, Carole (Larry) Parrish and Linda (James) Conley of Alaska, Sharon Wheat of Washington and Kathleen (Jeff) Rossi of Alaska; two brothers, Douglas (Claudia) of Oregon and John (Sarah) of Alaska; his mother-in-law, Mary Gnewikow of Tomah; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte (Tom) Madson of Minnesota and Patricia (Ed) Towne of LaValle; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 28, at 11 a.m. from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1221 LaGrange Ave., Tomah. Pastor John C. Wille officiated. Burial was in Dannavang Cemetery in Lincoln Township. Relatives and friends called at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah, assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation in memory of Allan Grant Doyle, Jr."
He was buried on 28 June 2005 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.26 in the Dannavang Cemetery.
