She was born Marguerite Caroline Gilner on Oct. 10, 1916, in the Town of Greenfield, Monroe County, WI, to John and Minnie (Schueler) Gilner. She graduated from Tomah High School in 1934. She married Arnold Griffin on May 22, 1937. Marguerite received her teaching certificate from Juneau County Teachers College in 1959, her bachelor’s degree in Education in 1964 and master’s degree in Education in 1977 from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Marguerite is survived by her children, daughter Charlene Morin (Lloyd) of Fulton, Texas, son Lester (Karen) of Medford and son Larry (Marcia) of Onalaska; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arnim, Harry, Jack and Vern and sisters Irene and Bernadine. Funeral services were held at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church 525 Superior Ave., Tomah, today (Thursday), Dec. 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. Pastor Phillip Enderle officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery at Tomah. Pallbearers for the service were her grandsons: Michael Morin, Steven Morin, Drew Morin, Jason Griffin, Chad Griffin and Mark Griffin."
