186. Donald Jerry GRIFFIN (`) (~) was born on 9 December 1939 in Cataract, Little Falls Township, Monroe County, WI.76,82,255 He died on 29 November 2011 at the age of 71 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.255

Obituary Notes: "Donald J. Griffin, 71, of Warrens, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at his home. He was born Dec. 9, 1939, to Lyle and Myrtle (Densmore) Griffin in Cataract.

Don grew up in Warrens and attended Warrens School. He worked in Chicago for a while and then moved back to the area and worked for Camp McCoy and Wittig Gas Station in Tomah. He was united in marriage to Nana Abbott on Nov. 17, 1962, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomah. Don then worked at John Felton's Machine Shop in Warrens for 10 years before taking a job as manager of Castle Rock Cranberry Marsh, where he spent 25 years.

In his spare time he enjoyed deer and elk hunting out west and also coon hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Warrens softball league, Town of Lincoln Fire Department and the Warrens Lion Club. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Nana, of Warrens; two sons, Scott (Lori) Griffin and Dallas Griffin, both of Warrens; one granddaughter, Shelby Griffin; brothers and sisters Garnet Tucker, Charlotte Gebhardt, Carol Brown, Ramona Brzeczek, Christine Dunahee, Doug Griffin and Dwight Griffin; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Lyle; and one sister, Wanda Griffin.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation Sunday from noon until the time of service at the funeral home. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements."
