Obituary Notes: "Laura Forsythe, 83, of Tomah died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Sparta, Wis. She was born Aug. 29, 1921, to Frank and Deda (Snowberry) Clay in Sparta. She was united in marriage to Verlin Forsythe on Oct. 25, 1939. Laura enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, reading, children and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Gerry) Forsythe of Tomah, Dr. Kenneth (Carol) Forsythe and Dr. James (Karoleen) Forsythe, both of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and John (Cindy) Forsythe of Waupun, Wis.; daughters, Carole Hart of Tomah and Ellen (Dr. Clint) MacKinney of St. Joseph, Minn.; 12 grandchildren, Linda Mesner, Bruce (Lisa) Hart, Gregg (Vicky) Hart, Brian (Mindy) Forsythe, Shannon Forsythe, Carlie, Allie and Jolie Forsythe, Scott and Aaron Forsythe, and Cameron and Connor MacKinney; nine great-grandchildren, Cory and Jesse Hart, Brett and Casey Mesner, Derek and Hunter Hart, Ian and Madison Forsythe, and Megan Fredericks; sisters-in-law, Gwen (Erv) Dorshorst, Freda Clay and Virginia Clay; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Deda; her husband, Verlin; brothers, Francis, Kenneth, Marion, Robert, Roland and Merle; and a son-in-law, Royce Hart.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Tomah. Pastor William Swan will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation today from 5 until 8 p.m. at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Laura Francelia CLAY and Verlyn FORSYTHE were married on 25 October 1939.54,99,173 Verlyn FORSYTHE graduated in 1935 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.215 from Tomah High School. He died before April 2005.75
