Ronald Kieth VANDERVORT (+) (~) (^) was born on 13 August 1936 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.649 He was christened about 1 September 1936 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI. He appeared in the census in 1940 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.627 Ronald appeared in the census in 1950 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.628 He graduated in 1954 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.1176 from Tomah High School. He then farmed with his grandfather, Roll Vandervort, for 9 months before enrolling at the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee in January 1955. He graduated in 1960 in Madison, Dane County, WI.64,1177 from the University of Wisconsin with a BSME degree. He then worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engine Company in Connecticut as an Experimental Test Engineer on jet engine fuel systems. Between January 1967 and July 1993 Ronald was a pilot and flight instructor for Northwest Airlines.64 After he retired, his hobbies included the building of small aircraft and the restoration of classic automobiles. He has homes in the Seattle and Phoenix areas.

She was born in Tokyo, Japan, June 28, 1943.

As an airline stewardess she met, then married, Ronald Vandervort of Hastings, MN on July 17, 1969. She was a 'Dean's List' student while attending Inver Hills College in MN. They moved to Bainbridge Island in 1986. Uiko was active in Helpline, Nisei Guild for Children's Hospital, and the Y-Me Breast Cancer Support Group. More recently, she operated, jointly, a jewelry handcraft business with Masako Guidry here on the island. Uiko enjoyed gardening and travel to different cultures. She brought delightful enthusiasm with her to every involvement.

Survivors include Ronald, her husband of 25 years; two sisters, Michiko (Fumio) Fujimura, and Shikiko Horiuchi of Tokyo, Japan; one niece, Mari Fujimura; one nephew, Go Fujimura; her mother-in-law, Thelma Vandervort of Brookfield, WI; along with numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ryutaro and Tomako Horiuchi of Tokyo, Japan."

Ronald Kieth VANDERVORT (+) (~) (^) and Carol Jean ELMS were married on 23 October 2009 in Bremerton, Kitsap County, WA.1177,1179 Carol Jean ELMS, daughter of Michael Thomas ELMS and Doris Marie UNKNOWN (ELMS), was born on 2 September 1943 in Raleigh, Wake County, NC.1177 She graduated in 1961 at Borah High School in Boise, Ada County, ID.1177 She graduated in 1966 in Corvallis, Benton County, OR.1177 She received a B.S. in Math Education from Oregon State University. Carol graduated in 1967 in Corvallis, Benton County, OR.1177 She received a M.S. in Math Education from Oregon State University. Between 1968 and 1999 she was .1177 a Mathematics teacher in several locations, including Wurzburg, Germany.
