1508. Donald DeRoy CURTIS (~) was born on 5 January 1924 in Beloit, Beloit Township, Rock County, WI.^313,975,977 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Rock Township, Rock County, WI.⁹⁷⁵ He served in the military in 1945.⁹⁷⁷ In 1945 Donald served 18 months in the Weather Observation Squadron. His draft card description was “Height 5’ 8”, 138 lbs weight, completion light, hair color blonde, and eye color blue”. After 1966 Donald was in Fairfield, Solano County, CA.⁹⁷⁷ After suffering injuries that left him unable to continue farming, Don pursed a career as a machinist, working first at Beloit Corporation before moving to Fairfield, California in 1966, where he was employed as a Master Machinist and Planner at Mare Inland Naval Shipyard from 1966 until retiring in 1986. He lived in Appleton, Outagamie County, WI in 1991.⁹⁷⁷ In 1991, Donald and Margie moved back to Appleton, Wisconsin. In 2003, he was sickened with blindness.  He lived in Appleton, Outagamie County, WI between 2006 and 2013.⁹⁷⁷ From 2006 through 2013 Donald lived with his older daughter and family in Appleton, Wisconsin.  Donald died on 6 April 2013 at the age of 89 in Appleton, Outagamie County, WI.⁹⁷⁷ Obituary Notes: "Donald was born on January 5, 1924 and passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Donald was a resident of Appleton, Washington at the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife Margie. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Thursday April 11, 2013 at OUR SAVIOUR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3009 N. Meade St, Appleton, with Rev. Kurt Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday beginning at 1:00 PM until the hour of service.

A second funeral service will be at 2:00PM on Friday April 12, 2013, at LUTHER VALLEY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7107 South Luther Valley Road, Beloit. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Luther Valley Cemetery, Beloit, WI.

He was buried in Orfordville, Rock County, WI.⁹⁷⁷ in the Luther Valley Lutheran Church cemetery.

Donald DeRoy CURTIS (~) and Margie Elaine MORRIS were married on 15 April 1944 in Beloit, Beloit Township, Rock County, WI.⁹⁷⁷ They had two sons and two daughters. Margie Elaine MORRIS, daughter of Walter MORRIS and Blanche UNKNOWN (MORRIS), was born on 1 August 1924 in Beloit, Beloit Township, Rock County, WI.⁹⁷⁷ She lived in Fairfield, Solano County, CA in 1966.⁹⁷⁷ When she and her husband moved to California, she had a variety of jobs, including at the Solano Sheriff Department and Travis AFB Base Exchange. She lived in Appleton, Outagamie County, WI in 1991.⁹⁷⁷ Margie died on 12 March 2006 at the age of 81.⁹⁷⁷ She was buried in Orfordville, Rock County, WI.⁹⁷⁷ in the Luther Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery.
