1101. Beverly Jane GRIGGS (~) was born on 4 January 1925 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.649 Born at 1103 Glendale Avenue at 2:00 A.M.

She suffered a heart attack in June 1991, and had colon cancer in January 1992.

Except for the last few years of her life, she lived at 1308 Stoughton Ave, Tomah, which had been the Griggs family home since the mid-1800's. She appeared in the census in 1930 in Adams, Adams Township, Adams County, WI.662 She appeared in the census in 1940 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.627 Beverly appeared in the census in April 1950 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.628 She was not working at the time because she was 7 months pregnant. She died on 7 January 2021 at the age of 96 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.924 Obituary Notes: "Beverly Drew, age 96, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Touch of Home in Tomah. She was born January 4, 1925, to Claire and Grace Olive (Kuckuck) Griggs in Tomah, Wisconsin.

Beverly was united in marriage to Oliver Drew on December 18, 1943 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah. She worked at Kroger grocery in Tomah for 15 years until Kroger’s left Tomah. She then went to work at the Cash Store for 10 years and as a cook for Tomah Schools for 10 years until her retirement in 1987.

Bev was active in many organizations. She was a member of the Tomah Lioness, an honorary life member of the VFW Auxiliary #1382, American Legion Auxiliary #201 and the St. Mary’s PCCW. She also enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and being outdoors gardening her flowers. She especially loved spending time and playing games with her granddaughter, Jenny and her three great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Dennis) Koranda of Tomah, WI, granddaughter, Jennifer (Tony) Martin, 3 great grandchildren, Alex, Jason and Lexi Martin, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oliver and her siblings, Lyle Griggs, Harold Griggs and Claire (LeNor) Griggs, Elva (Emil) Prise, Ruth (Marvin) Neubauer and Carol (Arlan) Roeske.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Parish in Tomah. Monsignor David Kunz will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Tomah, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited for visitation Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service with a rosary beginning 9:30 a.m. at the church."

She was predeceased by her parents, Claire Luen and Grace Olive (Kuckuck) Griggs; her husband, Oliver Drew; and her siblings, Lyle Griggs, Harold Griggs, Claire Griggs, Jr., Elva (Emil) Prise, Ruth (Marvin) Neubauer, and Carol (Arlyn) Roeske.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Dennis) Koranda, her granddaughter, Jennifer (Tony) Martin; and her great-grandchildren, Alex, Jason and Lexi Martin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 12th at 9:30 AM at the Queen of the Apostles Parish (315 W Monroe St, Tomah, WI 54660). Visitation will follow at 10:00 AM and a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM."

Beverly Jane GRIGGS (~) and Oliver Albert "Ollie" DREW Jr. were married on 18 December 1943 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.325 Oliver Albert "Ollie" DREW Jr., son of Oliver Albert DREW and Anna LANGE, was born on 3 October 1918 in Chicago, Cook County, IL.325 He appeared in the census in 1950 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.628 He and his wife were renting from Eleanor Hinds at 1301 Stoughton Avenue. His occupation was "Custodial Labor, Post Office." He died on 19 November 1995 at the age of 77 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.325,655 He suffered a heart attack in June 1991and colon cancer in January 1992. Ollie was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI. in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
