Patrick William "Pat" GRIMES was born on 16 June 1913 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.^9,22 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Cylon Township, St. Croix County, WI.¹⁹ He was a "Hired Hand" in the household of Henry and Florence Springer and his occupation was "Farm Laborer, Farm." Pat died on 31 January 1969 at the age of 55 in Theresa, Dodge County, WI.^9,16,38,39 Obituary Notes: "Pat Grimes, 55, of 208 S. Main St., Mayville, died Friday at work. He was the owner and operator of the Sone-Edge Inn, Mayville.

He was born June 16, 1913, in Sparta, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Grimes. He married Inez Schmidt on June 16, 1937 in Rio.

Survivors include his wife, Inez; his mother, Mrs. Maude DeNure of Neillsville; four sons, Terrence of Iron Ridge, Louis of Mayville, Michael of Jacksonville, Fla., Dennis and Brian, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Alex Weinberger, Milwaukee, and Charlene, at home.

He is also survived by two brothers, John of Neilsville and Edward of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Jack Hennesy of Minneapolis, Minn., and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and one son.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Neillsville. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday at Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville."

Per Bruce Grimes, "He was an entrepreneur and owned restaurants and taverns in Baraboo and Mayville, WI, among other locations." He was buried in Mayville, Dodge County, WI.^9,16 in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Patrick William "Pat" GRIMES and Inez Martha SCHMIDT were married on 13 June 1937 in Rio, Columbia County, WI.⁹ Inez Martha SCHMIDT was born on 1 June 1919 in Phillips, Price County, WI.^36,40 She died on 4 January 2006 at the age of 86 in Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, WI.^36,40 She was buried in Mayville, Dodge County, WI.⁴⁰ in the Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
