Habelman, age 63, of Tomah and Millston, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Franciscan-Skemp Healthcare Center, La Crosse. He was born to Robert and Jean (Hoag) Habelman on June 21, 1942 in La Crosse, WI. He attended high school at Tomah and Sparta and graduated from Sparta. He majored in mechanical engineering and attended the University of Wisconsin at Stout, and at River Falls. He also attended the University of Arizona at Phoenix, and at Tucson. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Romano. Two children were born to his union - a son and a daughter. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Wildes on Nov. 28, 1970. Bob was part owner of the Habelman Brothers Cranberry Co. Millston Marsh. He loved to travel with his father, and recently traveled to India and Africa. He enjoyed the outdoors and competed in trap and skeet shooting. He was talented in woodworking; he also collected exotic cars. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his father, Robert L. Habelman; a son and daughter and several grandchildren living in the Boston, MA, area; cousins Raymond (Kris) Habelman, Jeffrey and Julie Habelman; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Gael) Meyers of Onalaska; a brother-in-law, Dr. Laurence (Maureen) Wildes of Sun Prairie; other relatives, extended family Denis, Tanya and Bogdan Vassilinin and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean, and a brother, Arthur John. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1105 Butts Ave., Tomah. Pastor William F. Swan will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah, and at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services."
