78. Edna BATTEN was born on 18 March 1937 in Cutler Township, Juneau County, WI.⁴¹ She graduated in 1955 in Necedah, Juneau County, WI.⁴¹ from Necedah High School. She died on 13 December 2003 at the age of 66 in Camp Douglas, Cutler Township, Juneau County, WI.⁴¹ Edna was buried on 18 December 2003 in Cutler Township, Juneau County, WI.⁴¹ in the St. John's Cemetery.

Edna BATTEN and Emery J. ROBERTS were married on 15 January 1955 in Camp Douglas, Cutler Township, Juneau County, WI.^41,90 Emery J. ROBERTS, son of Emerson ROBERTS and Elizabeth LAUGHENBURG, was born on 19 August 1930 in Beloit, Beloit Township, Rock County, WI.⁹¹ He died on 15 August 2011 at the age of 80 in Camp Douglas, Cutler Township, Juneau County, WI.⁹¹

Obituary Notes: "Emery J. Roberts, 80, rural Camp Douglas, died Aug. 15, 2011, at his home. He was the son of Emerson and Elizabeth (Laughenburg) Roberts, and was born on Aug. 19, 1930, in Beloit. On Jan. 15, 1955, he married Edna Batten in Camp Douglas.

As a teenager Emery hauled milk; he later worked for Manthe Construction. He worked as a grinder at Walker Stainless Equipment for over 35 years.

He enjoyed welding, hobby farming and loved to fish and deer hunt.

Emery is survived by his six children: Edgar(Susan) Roberts of Tomah, Elizabeth Lane of Warrens, Eileen (Alvin) Gottbeheat of Tomah, Emma Mews of Baraboo, Ellen Forrest of Tomah and Eunice (Kevin) Peterson of Blair; four brothers, Richard (Gail) Vinz and Jim (Rita) Vinz, both of Janesville, and Dean (Louise) Vinz of Hustler; three sisters, Isabell Klein of Nekoosa, Elizabeth (George) DeLap of Camp Douglas and Janet (Tom) Jax of Mather; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Edna; brothers Kenneth Roberts, Anthony Roberts and Charles Roberts; and a sister, Elva Baldwin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Aug. 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon, with Fr. George Nelson Graham presiding. Burial will take place in the St. John’s Cemetery in the town of Cutler.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hare Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service."
