Charles William SPOONER was born on 23 October 1922 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.21,74 He appeared in the census in June 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.40 He appeared in the census in 1940 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.46 Charles died on 22 October 2014 at the age of 91.74

Obituary Notes: "Charles William Spooner, lifetime resident of town of La Grange, Monroe County, entered into eternal peaceful rest the morning of Saturday, March 22, 2014. He lived a long and happy life of 91 years, four months and 27 days. He was born Oct. 23, 1922, on the Spooner Homestead to William Henry and Elsie Myrtle (Harp) Spooner. He attended the North Tomah School and was a member of the Tomah Senior High School graduating class of 1941.

On June 23, 1945, Charles was united in marriage to Delores Krahn at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage in Madison. They continued to run the family farm, where they raised seven children. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and served as the recording secretary for 36 years.

Charles was the town of LaGrange treasurer for 46 years. He drove school bus for 25 years and also drove the Midland Gas Truck for a few years. Charles played country and western music in many bands throughout the years, including the Spooner family band. Charles was always tinkering with something, always working with his hands. He was a quiet, fair and honest man. His family was always most important to him and even though they never had a lot, he always made the best out of what they had.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Delores of Tomah; seven children, Dan (Sandra) Spooner of Pahrump, Nev., Cari (Steve) Nelson of Tomah, John (Denise) Spooner of Ashland, Neb., Ruth (Gale) Schindler of Tomah, Ren’e Lindsey of Onalaska, Tammy (Al) Schwerin of Union Center, Wis., and William (Candy) Spooner of Austin, Texas; 25 grandchildren, Heather (fiancé, Eric), Kathryn (Jess), Joshua, Becky, Jena, Sheila, Robert (Stephanie), Hilary, Tiffany, Kyria, Mary, Rebecca, Rachel, Charles, Lee (Candi), Adam (Jessalyn), Notasha (Chad), Sheana (Jim), Jhor’dan (Kristi), Ni’colas (fiancée, Melinda), Nathan, Kylea (fiancé, Jeff), John, David and Tucker; 30 great-grandchildren, Aaron, Makayla, Robert, Trinity, Sean, Destiny, Cameron, Malakai, Chayan, Xzavion, Siryn, Mailee, Lydon, Quinton, Chandler, EmmaLee, KaZyr’e, Jimmy, Anika, Danielle, Dillon, Dylan, Nicole, Courtney, Chase, Mikina, Damien, Korben, Keira and Alexis; a great-great grandchild, Kinsey; an expected great-great-grandchild, Kasyn; nephews and nieces, Mike (Jolene), Larry (Theresa), Tim, Laurie and Rebecca; many other relatives and special family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Jackson; a grandson, Alan; many brothers and sisters; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Town of Kirby. Pastor Phillip Enderle will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery."
