Obituary Notes: "Virginia J. Ryckman, age 90, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Tomah Healthcare Center. She was born Dec. 29, 1919, to Nello and Deycie (Rose) Wakefield at the family home in the Town of Lincoln, near Warrens, WI.

Virginia was united in marriage to Bernard Ryckman on Sept.6, 1946 in Tomah, WI. She was employed by Sorenson’s and Sons and WR Christiansen Accounting firm in Tomah, WI. Virginia and Bernard moved to Florida where Virginia worked as an accountant for Gilbert, Wallas and Stuart Accounting Firm before moving back to the Tomah area. She was later united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jim Friedl on Aug. 12, 2000.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughters, Terese Popenfus (Michael) Wasilevich of Kenosha, WI and Barbara (Gary) Van Zandt of Casper, WY; a sister, Leone Ross; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nello and Deycie; and first husband, Bernard on July 22, 1987; and a brother, Roland.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 11 a.m. at the Warrens Baptist Church. Dennis Frost will officiate. Burial will follow in the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday, April 5, 2010, from 5. until 7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, WI and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
