Marion Alice HONISH was born on 26 September 1923 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.9,23,33 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.14 She graduated in 1941 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.56 from Tomah High School. Marion died on 11 November 2003 at the age of 80 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.33

Obituary Notes: "Marion (Honish) McCann Scherreiks, 80, of Tomah, and formerly of Black River Falls, died Nov. 11, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse. She was born Sept. 26, 1923, to Joseph and Alice (Frohmader) Honish in the Town of Clifton, Monroe County. She graduated from Tomah High School. She was united in marriage to Laurence "Pete" McCann on Sept. 26, 1944. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1984. Their family moved to Black River Falls in 1958, where Marion operated the Rivercrest Motel. In 1977, they moved back to Tomah. She was united in marriage to Hellmut Scherreiks on Dec. 23, 1989, in Tomah. Marion worked as a secretary when she lived in Washington, D.C., and always found life to be a continuing learning experience. She was a faithful and active member of St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church at Indian Creek, and served on several church groups. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Hellmut of Tomah, four sons, Larry (Elaine) McCann of Rewey, Lee (Mary) McCann of Oregon, Kelly (Sue) McCann of Elroy and Tim (Mary) McCann of Black River Falls; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Francis (Dorothy) Honish of Wisconsin Dells; two sisters, Hazel Walcup of Camp Douglas and Elinor McPhail of Necedah. In addition to many nieces and nephews, Marion is survived by many foster children who Marion and Laurence cared for while living at Wilton.

In addition to her first husband Laurence, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Ellsworth Honish.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11:30 a.m. from St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church, Indian Creek, in the Town of Oakdale. Father Zbigniew Kucharski will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah, is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was buried on 15 November 2003 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.33 in the St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery, Indian Creek.

"Pete" MCCANN, son of Edward Matthew MCCANN and Mary KERRIGAN, was born on 13 August 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.9 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.57 He appeared in the census in 1940 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.57 He was living with his parents. Pete died on 9 March 1984 at the age of 73.21
