HONISH was born on 17 November 1908 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.17,18,33,34 He appeared in the census in 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.10 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.18 He was living with his parents. Sylvester graduated in 1928 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.33,35 from Tomah High School. He died on 31 January 1995 at the age of 86 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.33

Sylvester F. HONISH and Agnes Amelia SCHMIEDER were married in 1934.33,34 Agnes Amelia SCHMIEDER, daughter of George F. SCHMIEDER and Margaret TRALMER, was born on 14 December 1909 in Monroe County, WI.23,34 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.10 She appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.18 Agnes died in 1949 at the age of 40.21,34

Sylvester F. HONISH and Catherine Ann "Katie" SCHMIEDER were married on 2 May 1951 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.33,34,36 Catherine Ann "Katie" SCHMIEDER, daughter of Victor M. SCHMIEDER and Elizabeth KLUG, was born on 24 October 1927 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.23,33 She died on 17 July 2005 at the age of 77 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.33

Obituary Notes: "Catherine "Katie" A. Honish, 77, of Tomah, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2005, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 24, 1927, to Victor M. and Elizabeth (Klug) Schmieder in the Town of Adrian, Monroe County, WI.

She grew up on the family farm near Tomah while attending St. Mary's Catholic grade school and graduating from Tomah High School in 1945. She worked at Ray-O-Vac in Madison until she was united in marriage to Sylvester F. Honish on May 2, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomah. She helped work the family farm near Clifton and raised 10 children, three of whom were born of Sylvester's first wife, Agnes. She was a devoted mother and longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Indian Creek. She was a member and officer of Monroe County Homemakers and Catholic Knights Insurance group during various years. After her children were grown, she worked in the fall cranberry industry.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen (Leanne) Honish and Richard (Kelly) Honish of Tomah; five daughters, Christine (David) Riley of Red Wing, MN, Cynthia (Randy) Berg of Tomah, Bernadette Honish of Tomah, Susan (Mark) Kenworthy of Tomah, Amy (Martin) Georgeson of Camp Douglas.; stepchildren, Dr. John (Patricia) Honish of Oconto and Ann (Jerry) Nelson of Monona. She is survived by 22 grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Bailey, Eileen Honish, Neil Honish, Brad Honish, Benjamin Riley, Matthew Riley, Tracey (Ryan) Pierce, Kevin Berg, Kelly Berg, Brittany Honish, Cassidy Honish, Gregory (Aleitha) Kenworthy, James Kenworthy, Daniel Kenworthy, Ashley Kenworthy, Ryan (fianceƩ Amber Marsh) Schmidt, Nicole Schmidt, Holly Honish, Sarah Honish, Aaron Honish, Jared Georgeson and Jason Georgeson. She is survived by three great-grandchildren, Dylen and Skylar Pierce and Katelynn Bailey; one step daughter-in-law, Mary Honish; and by many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sylvester, on Jan. 31, 1995; a sister, Irene Ness; three brothers, Francis, Laverne and John Schmieder; and a step-son, Harold Honish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 4 p.m. at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements."
She was buried on 21 July 2005 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.33 in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
