40. Joan E. BARNHARST was born about 1930.62 She graduated in 1947 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.62 from Tomah High School. She died on 24 May 2015 at the age of 85 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.63

Obituary Notes: "Joan E. Connor, 85, of Tomah passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 22, 1930, to Henry and Helen (Honish) Barnharst.

Joan was a loving mother to eight children and loving grandmother and great-grandmother to many who were so very fortunate to have had her in their lives. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing euchre with her card clubs and at the senior center. Joan was also active in church activities at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Although Joan had polio as a child, she never let that slow her down. At 81, she climbed to the top of a 167-step lighthouse in South Carolina. She loved to golf and bowl. She enjoyed dancing and singing in the choir. She had fun going to the pool with her friends every week. She enjoyed cruising with her girls, traveled extensively and enjoyed anytime spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Sue) Connor of Spring Hill, Tenn., Barb (Bob) Perkins of Evergreen, Colo., Eileen (Don) Wineland of Littleton, Colo., Tom (Nancy) Connor of Plymouth, Wis., Laurie (Doug) Sparks of Dallas, Texas; her brothers, Howard (Mary) Barnharst of Tomah, and John (Carol) Barnharst of Wind Lake, Wis.; daughters-in-law, Wanda Connor of Little Chute, Wis., and Jody Connor of Tomah; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney; three sons, Pat, Charlie and Rick; parents and siblings, Mary, Al and Bill.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. Msgr. Richard Gilles will officiate. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends were invited for visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the church. Family and friends were also invited to a rosary held at 8:30 a.m. at the church."
