23. Hollis N. STROZINSKY was born on 31 March 1925 in Monroe County, WI.19,33 He died on 5 March 2009 at the age of 83 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.19

Obituary Notes: "Hollis N. Strozinsky, 83, of Tomah, passed away at home Thursday, March 5, 2009, with his wife and eight children at his side.

Hollis was born March 31, 1925, the oldest son of Irvin and Mildred (Niebuhr) Strozinsky. He was united in marriage to Valeria E. Kube on Jan. 15, 1947. Hollis was a WW II Navy veteran and worked 33 years at Fort McCoy before retiring in 1980.

Hollis is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years and their eight children, 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel officiated. Visitation was held Friday, March 6, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, with a rosary being led at 7:30 by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation was also held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church."

Hollis N. STROZINSKY and Valerie E. "Val" KUBE were married on 15 January 1947.35 They had eight children. Valerie E. "Val" KUBE, daughter of Joseph KUBE and Ottilia MACHAELIS, was born on 28 July 1927 in Knox, York County, NE.33,35,36 She graduated in 1945 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.36 from Tomah High School. She died on 20 March 2022 at the age of 94 in Richland Center, Richland County, WI.35 Obituary Notes: "Valeria “Val” Strozinsky (nee Kube), 94, met her Lord on March 20, 2022 in Richland Center.

Val was born in Crafton, Nebraska in 1927, to her parents, Joe and Tillie Kube. The Kube family moved to Wisconsin in 1930 and lived on their family farm. Val met the love of her life, Hollis Strozinsky, after graduating high school and the two were married in January of 1947. Together, they purchased a home in Tomah, Wisconsin, and raised eight incredible children.

In addition to spending time with her family, Val enjoyed singing in the St. Mary’s Church choir, catching up with her high school classmates, playing golf, gardening and reading. Upon her husband’s retirement from Ft. McCoy, the two found harmony in traveling around the country and spending time in their Tomah home.

Val is survived by her children Christine (Ray) Habelman, Mark (Bonnie) Strozinsky, Michael (Sara) Strozinsky, Connie (Troy) Lau, Carol (Bryan) Netsch, Jim (Hope) Strozinsky and Catherine (Christopher) Contino, and her many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis, daughter Carla, son John, nine loving brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life with family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice."
