85. Harold Earl "Mose" WOODLIFF was born on 27 October 1928 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.43,51 He died on 3 August 2005 at the age of 76 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.43

Obituary Notes: "Harold E. "Mose" Woodliff, 76, of Winona, MN, and formerly of Tomah, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. He was born Oct. 27, 1928, to Earl and Alma (Kortbein) Woodliff at Tomah. He was united in marriage to Betty Schmidt on May 27, 1950, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah. She preceded him in death Jan. 21, 1979. He owned and operated Woodliff's Market on Elm Street in Tomah for many years.

He was proud of his skills as a butcher and specialized in making homemade sausage and headcheese. He was a member of the 32nd Red Arrow Division of the Wisconsin National Guard for 10 years. Mose worked at VanPak (Union Camp) in Tomah until his retirement.

He was an avid sports fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching his grandsons run track and cross country events. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and hunting mushrooms. He was a charter and active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Mose is survived by his children, Linda (Bob) Heath of Winona, MN, and Carol (Hollis) Roth of Waunakee; five grandchildren, Randy (Lisa Achenbach) Roth of Sparta, Ryan "Buck" (Stephanie Young) Roth of Gays Mills, Holly Roth of Cross Plains, and Garrett and Elliott Heath, both of Winona; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan, Gabrielle, Daniel, Wyatt, Grace, Owen and Elizabeth; a brother, Ronald (Marge) of Lakeland, FL; and a sister, Arlys Danbom of Harlingen, TX; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; and a brother-in-law, Dana Danbom.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 6, at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1221 LaGrange Ave., Tomah. Pastor John C. Wille officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah."
He was buried on 6 August 2005 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.43,84 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Harold Earl "Mose" WOODLIFF and Betty Marion SCHMIDT were married on 27 May 1950 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.43 Betty Marion SCHMIDT, daughter of Paul R. SCHMIDT and Hulda Elizabeth PERGANDE, was born on 31 July 1929 in Monroe County, WI.51,116 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.40 She died on 21 January 1979 at the age of 49.63 Betty was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.84 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
