108. Dean Edward GIRAUD was born on 21 March 1937 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.51,163 He died on 1 September 2015 at the age of 78 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.163

Obituary Notes: "Dean E. Giraud, 78, of Coles Valley, near Norwalk, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Tomah Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tomah. He was born March 21, 1937, to Edward A. and Leona (Kortbein) Giraud in the town of Adrian. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Ridgeville.

He was a member of the Tomah Senior High School Graduating Class of 1955. After graduation, he began farming the home farm in Coles Valley. Dean was united in marriage to Margaret “Peg” A. Maca Aug. 8, 1958, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church. He had a lifelong love for horses. One of the highlights of his youth was riding his horse in the Sparta Centennial Parade at the age of 10. He recently had a team of Belgians. He owned Oliver and Minneapolis tractors. He was a faithful and lifetime member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He also was active in the 4-H Club.
Dean spent his entire life farming and raising his family in Coles Valley. He enjoyed spending time with his family and passing on his wisdom. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret ‘Peg;” four children, Connie (Gene) Brueggeman of Sparta, Cynthia (Eddie) Rivera of Milwaukee, Gary (Judy) Giraud of Norwalk, Mark(Sandy) Giraud of Sparta; a special daughter, Ada (Bob) Wilson of Miami, Fla.; a brother-in-law, John Rischette of Tomah; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hughes of Bentonville, Ark., and Linda Maca of Onalaska; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Leona Giraud; sister, Muriel Rischette; sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Odis Gnewikow; father and mother-in-law, Louis and Tillie Maca; two brothers-in–law, Robert Maca and John Hughes; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Irene Maca.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Ridgeville. Pastor Matthew Minzlaff will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Prairie Cemetery, Coles Valley."

Dean Edward GIRAUD and Margaret A. "Peg" MACA were married on 8 August 1958 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.131,163,164 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Margaret A. "Peg" MACA, daughter of Louis MACA and Tillie SVOBODA, was born about 1940.131
