158. Carol MARTEN was born on 27 November 1933 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁵³ She died on 29 June 2014 at the age of 80 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁵³

Obituary Notes: "Carol E. Kinghammer, 80, of Sparta, and formerly of Tomah died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. She was born Nov. 27, 1933, to Edmund and Edith (Sommerfield) Marten in Sparta.

On July 3, 1965, Carol was united in marriage to Donald D. Kinghammer in Sparta. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 2000. Carol worked for Northern Engraving in Sparta for several years where she met her husband, Donald. She also worked for Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in the housekeeping department in the West Allis area.

Together, Carol and Donald resided in various different cities throughout the state. They enjoyed meeting new people and sharing new experiences. In her free time, Carol enjoyed spending time outdoors. She was an excellent fly fisherman. Gardening was also a favorite pass time of Carol’s. She also loved cooking and collecting different recipes to try out.

She is survived by her cousin and caretaker, Grace Foltz Moseley of Tomah; and many other cousins, great-cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Donald.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 Monowau St. E., Tomah. Pastor Curt S. Backhaus will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery."
